THE TEMPEST
The clouds gather in solemn union
And skies blacken as the tempest draws near
Thunder rocks the sky
As if trying to tear open the whole earth (tear the earth in whole)
Lightening ripples in pure white
Almost leaving us blind in its wake
We look to the sky
And feel insignificant
Compared to god’s power
We are but god’s humble slaves
Naught for nothing but the path deemed for us
Some call it destiny
We reminisce the days of our youth
Feeling that today is the last day we’ll see
The beauty of god’s creation
Sadly the final tableau that our eyes would see
Before our demise
Is god’s wrath
As the tempest beckons
A ripple goes through our bodies
And shudder at the thought
That the end that we thought would be naught
Has come to pass!!!
